Dr Jennifer V Tamez, DNP, APRN, FNP

Dr. Jennifer Vasquez Tamez DNP, APRN, FNP-C began her nursing career after becoming a licensed Registered Nurse in 2004 at Driscoll Children’s Hospital in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit after her journey to this role began with a deeply personal experience when her own daughter was born premature and she spent weeks navigating the emotional and physical challenges of the NICU. Inspired by the care and support her husband and her received, Jennifer decided to channel her empathy and resilience in providing the same guidance and comfort she once needed.

Dr. Tamez built a diverse and impressive nursing career during her 11 years at Driscoll Children’s Hospital, where she gained invaluable experience in multiple specialties. She worked in the Emergency Department, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Medical-Surgical floors, and served as House Supervisor. This multifaceted background honed her skills, deepened her clinical expertise, and strengthened her ability to manage complex situations with composure and confidence.

In 2015, she graduated from Texas A&M Corpus Christi University and earned her Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Family Nurse Practitioner. After earning her Master’s Degree, Dr. Tamez had the privilege of working in a primary care clinic and urgent care, where she honed her skills and expertise in diagnosing and treating various medical conditions. From managing acute illnesses to providing comprehensive primary care, she embraced every challenge with open arms, constantly seeking ways to improve patient outcomes and enhance their overall well-being.

Dr. Tamez is a highly accomplished nursing professional whose dedication to patient care and leadership is matched by her commitment to academic excellence. Certifying her expertise in the nursing profession, she earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree in 2021 from Texas A&M University, a milestone that highlights her advanced knowledge and skill in clinical practice and healthcare leadership. With a passion for making a meaningful impact, Dr. Tamez combines her extensive education with years of hands-on experience to provide exceptional care and guidance. Her work continues to inspire colleagues and improve outcomes for the patients and families she serves.

In addition to working at the spa, Dr. Tamez works as an Infectious Disease Specialist where she began her journey at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, stepping into a pivotal role during an unprecedented global health crisis. With her expertise and years of clinical experience, she made a significant impact in managing the challenges posed by the virus. Dr. Tamez was instrumental in developing and implementing infection control protocols, ensuring the safety of patients, healthcare staff, and the broader community. Her leadership in patient care, policy creation, and staff training improved outcomes and fostered resilience within her organization. Her contributions during the pandemic underscored her dedication, adaptability, and expertise, cementing her legacy as a leader in the nursing profession and an advocate for compassionate, evidence-based care.

In addition to Dr. Tamez's clinical work, she was deeply passionate about education and mentorship and decided to become an instructor for Del Mar's College of Nursing. As a college nursing clinical instructor, Dr. Tamez’s goal was to empower the next generation of healthcare heroes with the knowledge, skills, and passion they need to make a lasting difference.

Dr. Tamez is a multifaceted healthcare professional whose expertise extends beyond traditional nursing into specialized certifications that enhance patient wellness and aesthetic care. She holds certifications in nutrition and detox health, empowering her patients to achieve optimal well-being through tailored lifestyle and dietary guidance.

Dr. Tamez is also certified in advanced aesthetic treatments, including Botox and fillers, BioTE hormone optimization, miraDry, laser hair and ZO Skin Health. These certifications enable her to provide a comprehensive approach to health and beauty, helping patients look and feel their best. With her diverse skill set and patient-centered philosophy, Dr. Tamez combines clinical precision with a holistic focus, delivering care that addresses both inner health and outward confidence.
